Therefore, I have created this blog to invite all those who enjoy watching television in their spare time and who may or may not have been able to give certain programs a chance to watch and potentially, find as interesting as I have. I am not forcing people to watch reality television, nor am I telling people they have to like what I am writing about, but I am opening up topics of discussion about certain television programs that I watch weekly and that I would like to exchange views, opinions and/or ideas about. Also, for those that actually do watch some of the reality television programs I find a liking for or whom watch reality television in general, I think this blog would help open their eyes to shows they may not have heard about or help catch them up on an episode they may have missed.

Two reality television shows I personally love are MTV’s “The Challenge” and E! Entertainment news show called, “Total Divas”. On MTV’s “The Challenge”, it is actually the 25th challenge, where MTV reality television stars from previous shows, such as “The Real World” and “Road Rules”, compete in a serious of individual challenges that test the persons strength, team work, knowledge, and agility, with the hopes of winning and receiving a quarter of a million dollars. On top of watching non-stop battles between both men and female competitors, there is also the aspect of the drama that occurs between players, as personal relationships and secret pacts are formed under one single, shared house.
On the E! Entertainment news shows called, “Total Divas”, it goes behind the scenes of the women, whom are also known as the diva’s of the WWE, wrestling world. I personally enjoy watching this show because it brings light to the wrestling world, other than just the well-known men that are apart of the WWE. Not only does this show involve how both the male and female professional wrestlers interact at work, but they introduce the intimate relationships that some of the diva's had outside of the ring and workplace.
Even though both shows are labeled as “reality television” and can be stereotyped as the “shit”, “pointless” programs on television that people should ignore, they both manage to appeal to both, men and female viewers and incorporate aspects of television that are in fact, realistic. I think that by reading this blog, I could bring interest and attract those that read this blog, with the brief descriptions of what these two shows are about. As a result, I find there to be no harm in being open minded to take a look at what these shows, or any other reality television shows, can offer to your own personal enjoyment and amusement.
I to am a fan of the challenge, however I feel the show is not exactly fair. There should be a mandatory drug test issued before competing on the show. CT is clearly on steroids, and wins any physical challenge by a landslide. If his jawline isn't proof enough, how about his random outbursts throughout the show..
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to say great blog, but I do not like reality TV for the life of me I think its all staged!
